A reliable non-touristy go to in NSB. Reminds me of my favorite French-style bistros in NYC. Any time Chef has a seafood stew appetizer on the specials, order it! Dan, Shay, Chris and the crew make you feel like family.

I highly recommend City Market Bistro. The restaurant is in a beautifully preserved historic building, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It is comfortably cozy, with a thoughtfully curated soundtrack that perfectly complements the ambiance. The mussels frites were expertly prepared, and the seared scallops were cooked to perfection. The service was equally commendable; our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. City Market Bistro is a restaurant I would happily recommend.

Delightful atmosphere, crowded space (in a good way), beautiful decor and incredible food. This place is higher quality than most in the area. Customer service is on the highest level, with addition to their menu waitresses give you daily specials rundown. We weren’t super hungry to begin with but we tried their sides, appetizers and deserts. Overall incredible food full of rich flavors, beautifully presented. Would recommend!

We hadn’t been to the Bistro in quite a long time; we had walked through the cars on Canal and decided to try it again. We were so glad we did. The service was excellent and so was the food. We shared the grilled ciabatta appetizer and a beet salad and both were just delicious. My partner had the crab cake appetizer for his dinner and I had the mussels and fries. Brought me right back to France where I had my first moules et frites. We had great wine to go with our dinners and promised ourselves that we wouldn’t let so much time go by before our next visit. We’ll see you soon!

3 of us ordered 3 meals and 3 desserts. Everything was out of this world! The depths of the flavor...amazing. The texture of every dish and dessert... heavenly. The bill...unbelievable. I expected it to be 50 % more expensive for such quality. The service was spot on, and the restaurant was clean, tidy, and appropriately decorated. We spoke with the chef, and I could tell this is his passion.

We ate here on 2/20 while visiting friends and found the Bistro to be a charming place with good food. It's a small restaurant with a limited menu but the food is excellently prepared and tasty, The server did a great job but the restaurant was very short of staff and one server was responsible for all the tables making for a slow meal. We would be happy to eat here again.

Adorable little bistro with the freshest produce....I crave those tomatoes! The grilled ciabatta is my go-to with a glass of wine. Amazing salads and ya can never go wrong with just the classic City Market burger. Yum!
